[20p-PA6-12] Plant Growth Enhancement using Reducing Active Species Produced by Water Vapor and Hydrogen Plasmas
Keywords:plasma, Plant Growth Enhancement
Since the 18th century, studies on the influence of external stimuli such as electric field and discharge on plant growth have been conducted. The plant growth promotion method by plasma irradiation has no persistence compared with the method using a plant hormone agent which is a chemical substance, and has little influence on the environment and the human. In recent years, the stimulation response of plants to reactive oxygen species generated by oxygen plasma is considered to be a major cause of plant growth. On the other hand, plant responses by reducing plasma irradiation have also been observed, but the detailed growth promoting action and mechanism thereof has not yet been clarified. In this study, the plant growth promotion effect using low pressure steam plasma and hydrogen plasma capable of generating reducing active species was investigated.
