We have studied Pt-free dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) toward the development of inexpensive DSSCs, and carbon materials, such as porous carbon and carbon nanotubes, have the high conductivity and the potential as the counter electrode of DSSCs. To increase the reactivity of electrolyte reaction on the carbon electrode, molybdenum disulfide which is a transition metal dichalcogenide was used. The electrochemical properties of the electrode were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
