[20p-PB5-9] Scintillation properties of TlCl-SrCl₂ crystal

We report the scintillation properties of thallium strontium chloride (TlSr₂Cl₅) crystal. Thallium will show a good detection efficiency due to its high atomic number (Z=81). The crystal sample was prepared from the melt using self seeding solidification method. The ratio luminescence emission bands appeared near the wavelength of 445 and 484 nm. The scintillation light yield reached 15,000 photons/MeV .
