[21a-144-7] Effect of gramicidin on pore formation in lipid bilayer

We have revealed that holes of nm - µm size are available for SLB irradiated with dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). In addition, it showed that diffusion coefficient of the supported lipid bilayer (SLB) decreases prior to pore formation. The purpose of this study is to reconstruct gramicidin, a membrane-forming protein in SLB, to investigate the effect on pore formation. DBD irradiation is performed on SLB containing gramicidin and the surface structure is observed with a fluorescence microscope or the like. In the presentation, I will report detailed comparison of pore formation with or without gramicidin.
