We are focusing on nitrogen-termination of diamond surface by nitrogen radical exposure as a method to stabilize negative charge of NV center, because it is essential for nanoscale NMR application using NV center. We have successfully detected nuclear spin signals of 1H using a shallow NV center in nitrogen-terminated diamond fabricated by using nitrogen gas containing 4%-H2. At this time, we could fabricate the nitrogen-terminated diamond by using pure nitrogen gas and detect nuclear spin signals of 1H.
