Keywords:optical frequency sweeper

New high speed frequency sweepers have been developing as light sources of OCTs. Here this optical frequency sweeper is used to observe frequency characteristics of a tunable Mach-Zehnder interferometer to investigated the feasibility to OCTs. When the optical path length difference of the interferometer was changed, the optical path length difference obtained from the peak of the Fourier transform also changed. And when the optical path length difference of the interferometer was further increased, the optical path length difference obtained from the peak of the Fourier transform changed periodically. The peak intensity sharply decreases as it goes away from the point where the optical path length difference is 0, and suggestion that the aliasing noise can be reduced. From these results, there is a possibility that high-speed OCT may be realized using this optical frequency sweeper.
