[21a-PA1-10] Salt Effect on Thermal Isomerization Process of Methyl Yellow in Ethanol

We studied the influence of NaCl addition on MY thermal isomerization (TI) process in detail from two viewpoints, (1) NaCl concentration dependence and (2) dye concentration dependency.
Experimental results showed that the TI rate increased with increasing NaCl concentration and did not depend on dye concentration. We attributed the increase of the TI rate to the interaction between dye and salt ion. The relaxation rate derived from this idea depends only on the NaCl concentration and not on the dye concentration. This agrees with the experimental result.
