[21p-141-5] Control factors of molecular orientation in OLED films

Daisuke Yokoyama1 (1.Dep. Org. Mater. Sci., Yamagata Univ.)

Keywords:molecular orientation, OLED, amorphous organic semiconductor

Nearly a decade has passed since we first showed the generality of molecular orientation in vacuum-deposited amorphous OLED films and its application prospects. Along with the progress of the device performances of OLEDs, research on molecular orientation in OLED films has also developed significantly. In this presentation, we will briefly review the analytical methods and device applications of molecular orientation in OLED films, mainly focusing on our own studies, and discuss the control factors of molecular orientation specific to amorphous organic solids, which intricately changes depending on methods and conditions of fabrication. We will also introduce our recent experimental results and discuss the formation mechanism from new perspective for general understanding.
