[17a-B203-5] Application of III-V compound semiconductor solar cell for high-efficiency optical wireless power transmission (4)
Keywords:optical wireless power transmission, laser, solar cell
Optical wireless power transmission is expected to be smaller, higher-power, and longer distance transmission, comparing with conventional wireless power transmission. We have reported conversion efficiencies by laser irradiation for compound solar cells such as InGaP, GaAs, InGaAsP and InGaAs. In a theoretical calculation, InGaP solar cells could be expect to have a higher conversion efficiency than other solar cells. In this study, we measured conversion efficiencies using lasers with the wavelength from 520nm to 638nm. Additionally, we also investigated the incident laser beam area dependency of a conversion efficiency by using a 633nm laser. As a result, the highest conversion efficiency of 48.0% was obtained in the case with the 520nm laser incident. The dependency of a conversion efficiency on the area of the incident laser beam was found to be small.
