Keywords:ammonia, enzymatic redox cycling reaction, potentiometry

In recent year, development of a simple and sensitive ammonia sensing device for liver cancer and liver cirrhosis, is desired in the view point of preventive medicine. In this study, we combined (1) redox cycling reaction based on L-glutamate oxidase and L-glutamate dehydrogenase for ammonia to amplify the reaction response and (2) an electrode system which can convert the enzyme products into potential changes of a mediator. We could detect ammonia electrochemically.
