Fiber-based bandpass filters (BPFs) are expected in the application fields such as optical fiber communications, sensing and measurement fields, fiber laser applications. We have been studied the BPFs based on force-induced long-period fiber gratings (LPFGs) formed in two different few-mode fibers (FMFs). In this article, we report the BPF responses improved by controlling the field distribution of the LP₁₁ mode propagating in the SI-FMF.
