We are investigating the output and temperature characteristics of Yb: YAG TRAM laser using water jet cooling and zero-phonon-line excitation methods with high heat removal effect with the aim of developing room temperature driven high power laser. In this study, the effect of layer thickness and doping concentration of the laser medium was investigated. As a result, at the low doping concentration, the oscillation threshold decreased and the output increased. On the other hand, the laser medium temperature has been lower in the low-doped concentration than high-doped concentration. It is considered that suppression of heat generation in the medium is one factor of the increase of the output.
