The external cavity quantum cascade laser (EC-QCL) is quite attractive as a coherent light source for mid-infrared applications. For EC-QCLs, reducing the facet reflectivity is strongly required to improve the laser performance. We will present broadband mutillayer anti-reflection coating designed for a broad gain QCL facet, contributing the broader tunablity and higher output power.
