We review recent results on the unique nonlinear optical transformations enabled by the large density of states afforded by multimode optical fibers. Specifically, we discuss the nonlinear properties for the countably infinite set of available modes in optical fibers that are, counter-intuitively, stable in the linear regime in spite of the fibers themselves being highly multimoded.
