We experimentally investigated Py/Ag/Bi trilayers having various thicknesses by means of generalized MO ellipsometry (GME). We fabricated Py/Ag/Bi trilayer samples onto Si substrate using an RF magnetron sputtering technique at room temperature. In GME measurements, a laser with wavelength of 635 nm was used. The Bi layer thickness affects significantly the longitudinal Kerr rotation and ellipticity. More importantly, the rotation angle changes the sign around the 20 nm Bi thickness. The experimentally evaluated roation angle cannot be reproduced by a simple transfer matrix calculation of the trilayers.
