[17p-P6-28] Thermal and Photo-Responsive Behavior of Alchoxycyanobiphenyl LC Mixtures

Recently, light-controlling device for windows have been much attention that control of sunlight transmission and protect of privacy in architecture, automobile and airplane.Polymer dispersed liquid crystal materials are mainly used for light controlling materials. In this study, we developed thermosensitive and photosensitive light-controlling materials with alchoxycyanobiphenyl LC mixtures by easier processing methods. The sample cell fabricated with polyimide and silane coupling agent coated glass substrates, showed optical scattering property between from 30 to 45 degree by heating or photo-irradiation.
