Recently, soft actuators made from polymer threads have attracted attentions since they have excellent properties such as high-power, light-weight, flexible, and low cost. These actuators obtain motions when heated. In this study, we manufactured multifilament structured actuators with thin polymer threads and CNT yarns and investigated the relation of their motion and input thermal energy. Results of the actuating force measurement suggested that the multifilament structure passes the thermal energy to the actuators more efficiently and it also improves the actuating force.
