[18a-P2-2] Formation of single crystalline dichroic dye using liquid crystal solvent for coatable polarizers

The coatable polarizer has been required for manufacturing technology of printable electronic display as the next generation display. For realization of solution-processed polarizer, we propose application of highly-ordered single crystal composed of dichroic dye using guest-host effect for coatable polarizer. Both of guest-host effect and crystalline structure is expected to high-performance polarization characteristics. In this study, we discuss the polarization characteristics of azo-dichroic dye crystals using nematic-phase liquid crystal solvent.
