We have designed and fabricated a new beam converter from a Gaussian beam to a ring beam, which consists of concave axicon mirrors, quarter-wave plates, and a polarizing beam splitter. The mode conversion efficiency was estimated to be ~80%, and the Rayleigh length of the ring beam was measured to be much longer than that of the Gaussian beam. These results obtained have shown that the converter can efficiently generate a nondiffracting beam from a Gaussian beam.
