In YHx, the crystal structure transitions to hcp (x <0.21: α phase), fcc (x = 2: β phase), hcp (x = 3: γ phase) with increasing hydrogen concentration x.And there is transition from metal to semiconductor at x = 2.8.Further, when a Pd catalyst is used, the hydrogen absorption effect of the rare earth metal is promoted. In this study, the concentrations of each phase were calculated from X - ray diffraction results of YHx using Pt catalyst with catalytic effect like Pd catalyst. Then, when a sample of Pt = 5 nm and Y = 300 nm was hydrogenated at 150 ° C, almost complete γ phase single phase was successfully generated.
