[18p-A204-1] [INVITED] Optical Modulating Device Based on Electrochemical Reactions

Kazuki Nakamura1 (1.Chiba Univ.)

Keywords:electrochromism, electronic papers, smart windows

Electrochromism is defined as reversible color change induced by electrochemical reaction. The electrochromic (EC) devices are expected to be applied for dimming mirrors, electronic papers, digital signage, and smart windows. In the lecture, novel Ag deposition–based multicolor EC device will be presented. The EC device achieved six optical states - transparent, silver-mirror, black, cyan, magenta, and yellow - in a single cell. Moreover, in the point of novel application of the EC reaction, novel electrochemical system enabling modulation of both emission and coloration will be also introduced.
