[18p-A302-2] How to Build a Large-Scale Optical Quantum Computer

Photonic quantum computers have the advantage of room-temperature operation and applicability to optical communication, but they have been lacking scalability thus far. In this talk, we introduce our two approaches toward a large-scale photonic quantum computer. One is a “hybrid” scheme which can efficiently process information by exploiting both particle and wave nature of light. The other is a loop-based photonic quantum computer architecture based on the hybrid scheme, which enables large-scale quantum computing with almost minimum optical components.
