フェムト秒レーザーアブレーションによる3次元形状変化をパルス毎に計測し、表面形状とレーザーアブレーションの関係を調べた。表面形状変化とアブレーション速度の関係から、レーザー照射により作られる脆化層がアブレーションに大きな影響を及ぼしていることが分かった。
