We investigate 2D photonic crystal to improve light-extraction efficiency of deep-UV LED by utilizing finite-difference time-domain method. In this study, we show that the half spherical void can attain perfect reflection for normal TE plane wave and contributes to the increase of light-extraction efficiency.
