We have revealed that oxychloride compounds, Ba2Cu3O4Cl2 (Ba2342), was generated in MOD-processed YBCO films by addition of Cl to the starting solution, and this oxychloride is found to promote biaxial alignment of YBCO. In this study, preparation of Ba2342 films by MOD method was attempted.
