Graphene oxide (GO) was synethesized by Hummers and Brodie methods in order to chemically modify the topology of two sub-lattice structure of graphene. According to the structural and magnetic characterization, epoxy and hydroxyl functional groups is found to be introduced into graphene depending on the synthesis route. This results in the difference in the structure and spin magnetism of chemically modified graphene.
