[18p-G201-4] [Keynote Speech] The present and the future of railway signalling systems: Expectations for electronics devices

Yamato Fukuta1 (1.JR East)

Keywords:railway signalling systems, integrated MEMS

Railway singalling systems that use many information systems and electronic devices are indispensable for safe and stable train operations. Today, the signalling systems have several issues, for example, system replacement, an intelligent train control, and so on. The integrated MEMS must be useful for these issues. We have proposed a new railway signalling system where many integrated MEMS devices form a distributed system. Unfortunately, since the system has a lot of technical issues, its feasibility may not be high. Nevertheless, we believe that the progress of the integrated MEMS and its application achieve marvelous innovations and it will be useful for not only railway signalling systems but also social infrastructures.
