[18p-P11-8] Fabrication of functional thin film for enhancing condensation heat transfer by wettability patterning

Coating to enhance condensation heat transfer is getting great attention due to the growing demand against efficient energy use. previous study had reported that use of hydrophobic surface will enhance heat transfer ability but will slow down the nucleation speed. In this research we had fabricated hybrid surface of hydrophobic and hydrophilic to enhance heat transfer ability. The coating which has hydrophobic and hydrophilic surface in the ratio of 80% and 20% showed the highest heat transfer ability and marked 2times higher heat transfer coefficient than the simply hydrophobic coating.
