Organic thin film solar cells are cheap to manufacture, but suffer from the disadvantage that degradation easily occurs due to environmental changes. Femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy was used as a method for evaluating deterioration. Femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy is useful for evaluating the ultrafast relaxation process of carriers generated by photoexcitation in semiconductors, and it is possible to selectively observe only the light-absorbing layer. The relaxation process of the carrier before and after deterioration of the solar cell device was compared.
