[18p-P4-8] Investigation of Organic Material for High-Voltage Tandem Solar Cell

As one application example of organic solar cell (OSC), it is drawing attention to store solar energy as hydrogen by electrolysis of water. However, the theoretically voltage for the electrolysis of water is 1.23 V or more, that OSC single cell has not reached under the current situation. In order to improve open-circuit voltage (Voc), there is a method of combining two kinds of OSCs having different absorption ranges of the light into a tandem structure. In this work, we have described the selection of the light absorbing layer and the characteristics of each fabricated cell for the tandem OSC. The sum of Voc of each cell exceeded 1.23 V for electrolysis of water and it was found to be promising for tandem OSC application.
