A non-thermal atmospheric pressure plasma (NTAPP) can generate reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) under ambient conditions. Since RONS can activate or inactivate cells, the NTAPP has been used in biomedical applications. We have developed a microdevice, Plasma-on-Chip to conduct plasma treatment at single cell level. Using the Plasma-on-Chip device, we tested plasma irradiation to green algae Chlorella cells, yeast cells, and murine fibroblast L929 cells. In this study, we analyzed delivery of OH radical which exerts oxidative stress on cells.
