A lot of studies on metamaterials have been conducted, but there are few cases where the units smaller than the wavelength of visible light are arranged in a large area. In particular, there are almost no examples where units stand vertically to the substrate. We tried to fabricate such a structure using dry etching to double layer colloidal crystals composed of silica spheres.
