Metal nanostructures can convert light into heat with high efficiency because of light absorption by localized surface plasmon. In this study, gold semi-shell arrays were fabricated by colloidal self-assembly method. A microbubble was generated by focusing laser light to the semi-shell array in water, and Marangoni convection around the bubble was investigated.
