[19a-A202-7] Phase transformation in hcp-MnAl alloys under magnetic fields

Differential thermal analysis for hcp-MnAl alloys under magnetic fields were carried out for evaluating the magnetic field effects on the activation energy of the phase transformations. The multiple phase transformations were observed by single exothermic peak. With increasing magnetic fields, the activation energy of the phase transformations were monotonically decreased for H < 10 T, and increased for H > 10 T. There magnetic field effects were explained by the accerelation of the transformation to ferromagnetic phase and the suppression of that to the non-ferromagnetic phase.
