[19a-A404-1] Preparation of upconversion nanoparticles NaYF₄:Er,Yb by laser ablation in liquid and optical properties

Upconversion nanoparticles NaYF₄:Er,Yb were prepared by laser ablation in liquid and their optical properties were investigated. Focused Nd:YAG laser (Second harmonic generation, pulse duration: ns) was used. By changing fluence of laser as a parameter, fine nanoparticles (a few ten nanometer) and spherical ones (a few hundred nanometer) were obtained simultaneously. Formation mechanism was investigated by using unfocused optical system. Upconversion emission was observed.
