▲ [19a-C103-3] Effects of strain on thermal conductivity of Fe2VAl-based superlattice thin film
Keywords:thermal conductivity, Fe2VAl, superlattice
Fe2VAl-based compounds (L21-type Heusler phase) have been widely investigated as one of the most promising thermoelectric materials. All the constituent elements of Fe2VAl-based compounds are non-toxic and abundant. Besides, good mechanical strength and strong resistance both for oxidation and corrosion let us believe that Fe2VAl-based compounds are suitable for practical applications. Although its power factor reaches 5.5 mWm-1K-2 which is even larger than that of Bi2Te3-based thermoelectric materials, the figure of merit is still much less than unity due to the high thermal conductivity. Thus, we tried to fabricate the artificial superlattice thin film to effectively reduce the thermal conductivity. In the present study, we intended to identify the phonon scattering mechanism in the Fe2VAl-based thin films.
