[19a-F214-1] Surface Plasmon Loss for Medium-Energy Electron Diffraction

Using an InP(111)A surface, fundamental knowledge about the medium-energy electron diffraction pattern and surface plasmon excitation depending on the glancing angle and energy of an incident electron beam has been obtained. A big difference appears in a diffraction pattern between low-energy and medium-energy beams. Averaged excitation number of surface plasmon was found to be about 1.8 for the both beams.
