We designed and prepared MIP-NGs containing gold nanoparticles, and tried to apply them as radiosensitizers in radiotherapy. First, gold nanoparticle-encapsulating MIP-NGs were synthesized by using gold nanoparticles as the core and the MIP layer as the shell. As a result of administration of gold nanoparticle-encapsulating MIP-NGs into tumor-transplanted mice and irradiation of X-ray, the tumor progression was suppressed as compared with the case where only radiation irradiation was performed.
