[19a-P1-11] Separation of fish eggs from sea-water by the Lorentz-force-type separator

Keywords:Lorentz-force-type seawater-oil separator, fish eggs

In the presence of an electric field and a magnetic field, seawater experiences a Lorentz body-force. On the other hand, oil does not undergo the body-force because of the insulation properties. The separation cell which our group has been developing is utilizing the difference of the body-force actions and can separate oil from seawater in principle. In this work, we have investigated the separation power of fish eggs instead of oil. As the results, it has been found that the Lorentz-force-type separator is a useful method for collecting fish eggs from seawater.
