[19a-P3-4] Sensitivity Improvement in Heterodyne Electro-Optic Sampling by the Polarization Filtering for Terahertz Wave Detection

We have been studied a heterodyne electro-optic sampling (EOS) for terahertz waves. An optical configuration that has the polarization of the heterodyne component is perpendicular to a probe beam is used to improve the detection sensitivity (ΔI/I), while suppressed the probe-beam component after EOS detection by using polarizer in this study. As the result, the ΔI/I is improved almost eight times comparing with the standard EOS.
