their layers, they show various stacking from their stacking angle and stacking order. Recent works revealed that the stacking angle of heterostructures strongly affects their band structure and optical properties, but there are a few reports which researched about the effect of stacking order of the heterostructures.
Here, we report the PL modulation of interlayer excitons in WS2/MoS2 heterostructures by stacking order. We fabricated stack angle controlled WS2/MoS2 heterostructures by combination of chemical vapor deposition growth and dry transfer method. Fabricated heterostructures with same stacking angle show two kind of PL emission from interlayer excitons. Density functional theories (DFT) calculation revealed that these differences are caused by the difference of interlayer distance between WS2 and MoS2 monolayers.
In our presentation, we’ll discuss modulation of PL properties and band structures by stacking order obtained through DFT calculation.
