For the purpose of analyzing drugs using transmittance and fingerprint spectrum of terahertz (THz) wave, We have been developing a spectrometer using injection-seeded Terahertz Parametric Generator (is-TPG). In this spectrometer, the THz wave is detected after converted into infrared light (detection light) by a nonlinear optical crystal.
In this time, unnecessary light generated in the nonlinear optical crystal on the detection side was removed by interference of light of the same wavelength as the detection light, and the sensitivity was improved. Furthermore, by simultaneously acquiring four phase components of an interference signal which is a sine wave, the measurement time was shortened and the time variation of the signal was reduced.
