The generation of tunable, coherent, and circularly polarized continuous wave terahertz radiation would have far reaching applications in wireless communications, imaging, and spectroscopy. An experimental demonstration of a method to generate circularly polarized terahertz emission directly from a mesa-shaped superconducting Bi-2212, monolithically without using any external optical devices is discussed in this study.
