[19p-B203-15] Non-plasmonic NASSCA-optical tweesers: A functional study

We have studied plasmonic optical tweezers (POT) for nanomaterials such as DNA and polymers. These nanomaterials would be efficiently trapped by a plasmon-enhanced optical force. However, plasmonic excitation also leads to a photothermal effect. Such heat generation has frequently made POT difficult. Recently, we have developed a novel optical trapping; Nano-Structured Semi-Conductor-Assisted (NASSCA) optical tweezers. In NASSCA optical tweezers, we used a metal-free black silicon with a nano-needles structure on the surface. NASSCA exhibited a high-performance in optical trapping. In the present study, we investigated the NASSCA trapping behaviors for polystyrene nanospheres by means of fluorescence microspectroscopy
