[19p-B403-6] Quench behavior of QMG ring bulk magnets

Mitsuru Morita1 (1.Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal)

Keywords:superconductor, bulk magnets, Quench

QMG® with excellent Jc properties is a bulk oxide superconducting material in which 211 phases are finely dispersed in a single crystalline 123 phase. In the case of magnetization of strong magnetic field to a ring shaped QMG, the sample may be damaged by a large hoop force. This time, it is reported that quenching occurs in the temperature rising process after magnetization, and the sample may be damaged in some cases.
