[19p-C201-5] Metabolomics of glioblastoma cells incubated with plasma-activated lactate
Keywords:Plasma medicine, Plasma activated lactate, Metabolism
Nonequilibrim atmospheric pressure plasma (NEAPP) has been attracted attention in plasma bioapplications especially for medical applications. Previously, our group reported that the NEAPP-irradiated Ringer's lactate solutions (PAL) killed cancer cells, gliobrastoma. During the incubation of cells in the plasma-activated medium (PAM), the cell metabolism changes were appeared in anaerobic glycolysis. In the cell metabolites, glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate(GAP) accumalated, owing to suppress enzymatic activitivity of GAD dehydrogenase (GAPDH). This means that anaerobic glycolysis of the cancer cells methabolism changed by the PAM incubation. On the other hand, the PAL incubation changes the other intracellular metabolic pathways with respect to amino acids, ketones, etc. Actually, an amount of the intracelluar reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) for the PAL incubation was smaller than these for the PAM incubation. In this study, the metabolites in glioblastoma incubated in the PAL were analyzed and the antitumor mechanism is also discussed on the basics on the metabolomics.
