[19p-F102-4] Direct Gas-Phase CO2 Reduction for Artificial Photosynthesis Using
a Gas Diffusion Electrode
Keywords:Carbon dioxide reduction, Solar energy conversion, Gas diffusion electrode
We successfully demonstrated a gas-phase CO2 photoreduction reaction under simulated sunlight (AM1.5) in the ambient conditions using a Cu-based catalyst loaded-gas diffusion electrode (GDE) together with a tandem photoanode consisted of a seimiconductor photocatalyst and a CIS-PV. Without an external applied bias, CH4 and C2H4 were produced. The solar-to-chemical energy conversion efficiency for CH4 generation reached 0.56%. These results show that direct CO2 reduction from a gas phase using a GDE is promising for yielding multi-electron reduced products.
