[19p-G202-5] Plasmon-induced dissociation reaction of a dye molecule utilizing well-defined metal nanostructure
Keywords:localized surface plasmon resonance, photochemical reaction, surface enhanced Raman scattering
Photoreaction induced at metal nanostructure has attracted wide attention with expectation of the high reaction efficiency and novel photochemical reaction. We aimed to reveal the electromagnetic effect on plasmon induced photoreaction utilizing the array of the gold nano dimmers fabricated by lithography technique. We modified the electromagnetic effects by the gap distance of the gold nano dimmers. As a result, we observed plasmon induced decomposition reaction of Rhodamine B. The rate constant obtained by the gold nano dimmers with the small gap distance was larger than that obtained by that with larger gap distance. Therefore, we succeed in the observation of the effect of the electromagnetic effects on plasmon induced photoreaction.
