[19p-P7-64] Radio-photoluminescence Properties of CaF₂:Sm

We have synthesized Sm-doped CaF₂ and then characterized the radio-photoluminescence (RPL) properties. Before irradiating with X-rays, we only observed the 4f-4f transitions of Sm³⁺. After X-ray irradiation, however, we confirmed a new emission band around 730 nm as RPL. The latter emission was attributed to the 5d-4f transitions of Sm²⁺.
