In order to realize a flexible LCD which have attracted significant interest as a promising technology for new display applications, it is a problem to hold the cell thickness at a curved state. To solve the problem, polymer wall spacers which adhesive substrates has been proposed, but holding effect of cell thickness has not been quantitatively evaluated. In this study, we proposed a method to evaluate the holding effect of cell thickness in curved flexible LCDs by wavelength-dependent retardance characteristics. As a result, it is quantitatively clarified that the cell thickness can be held by lattice-shaped adhesive polymer wall spacers.
